Wow Kyle from Maffei was truly outstanding in every aspect of service and follow-up. We contacted the company with our request at 10am and by 1pm he was already here and working on the problem. Not only was the problem found and various solutions offered, but Kyle was understanding of our budget restrictions and found options that could help us.nnHe was kind enough to look at the rest of our heating and plumbing solutions and recommended some work to be done at a later time as well as advising us on things that were not needed at the moment- again helping us and our limited budget. I'm a disabled vet on a fixed income so this help was truly appreciated.nnFinally, and most importantly, during the pandemic it is vital that customers feel comfortable with strangers in their homes. At every point he(Kyle) was respectful and professional. He wore a mask and was constantly cleaning up as he worked. I completely trust him and Maffei in my home and around my family. I was very impressed with the thoroughness of Kyle. He answered my many questions, and knew I was freaked out when he discovered my furnace was in tough shape. He went over all my options in a professional manner. I was a happy camper to have my furnace installed in an expedited manner. His team were here on time, and worked hard all day. After using 2 electrical companies and another HVAC company, no one could figure out the issue. The site technician for Maffei Services, Gator was awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. He assessed, tested and figured out the issue with my high velocity system and outdoor heat pump. With a few calls and rewiring my system, was up and work and working after the 5 min reset. I finally have heat in my new Timber Frame home. 100% satisfied with the work, professionalism and kindness of this company. Thank you
Intending merely routine HVAC maintenance, I mentioned to Kyle that my sister’s electric bills were running high, and growing, in recent years. He examined the equipment, reporting that her air handler was 37 years old and outdoor condensing unit 20 years old. I asked him to recommend a full replacement, which he and his team installed recently, just in time for winter.nMaffei was so easy to work with and highly professional that I’ve retained them to do all future servicing/maintenance of the new unit.nIn sum, could not be more pleased.
If you look at the other reviews here and on Yelp, you will see that many people complain about their outrageous prices. We called Maffei to price two minor toilet repairs. These repairs required installing of new tank kits--the kind you can pick up at Lowes or Home Depot for $60 max. We didn't have time to do the self-replacement and were willing to pay for the plumber to do it. However, Maffei quoted $682 to repair each toilet. So the previous reviewers who said their prices were outrageous are correct. If most plumbers charge around $120 per hour for work, they're essentially saying that they need 5 hours to do a tank-kit replacement! 5 hours @ $120 per hour = $600. Then add $60 for the kit = $660. And their quote even comes out to more than this! I strongly recommend you DON'T use this company as they're taking advantage of their customers and their rates are completely unreasonable. (They also quoted $1747 to install two new toilets, and I received a quote from another company for less than half this.)
