The Florence and Rustler #2 Mines are the best preserved mining properties in the State of Nevada. The Florence was the second largest producer in the district, and had some of the richest High Grade Gold in the world. James, an 11 year old gives great tours of these very historic properties. The mines are not hard to find since they sit on a hill overlooking Goldfield, a town that was built by these fabulous mines. If you want to see mines that have not been enhanced, a visit to these Nationally historic mines are a must.

The most historic property in Goldfield... If it weren’t for the Florence, Rustler #2 and other mines, there wouldn’t be a Goldfield !!

Ecv. Reply back to Florence mine weeks ago. Well worth the trip to Goldfield if you're into historical settings. Hope it makes a comeback.

this mine is open and active I had a terrible experience here I was out looking for crystals I had walked really far so when I seen a chance to climb over a gate into a laydown yard and cut through it thought it would be a shortcut so wasn't I ended I wasn't stuck but I climbed down quite a ways and I did not want to walk all the way back up anyways so as I sit there looking at a gigantic hole I mean huge better words used it was there mining pit I think so I sat and cried lol I wasn't lost and technically wasn't stuck just very tired it was very hot too so I didn't want to call anyone it was either walk all the way back up or walk all the way around I chose to walk around which I now know took me all the way to the other side of town so once again not a short cut I would not recommend doing what I did stick to the roads watch for open pits and snakes
