Los Lunas Police Department

Recently did a ride along with the Los Lunas Police Department, I was given the full tour of their building and introduced to many people who work there. The ride along was a great learning experience. Nothing serious happened for that ride along but it was worth going for it. I would do this again. Very friendly staff and the police officers answered all my questions pertaining to their department.

I regret moving to Los Lunas because of these guys. They stop me ALL the time, just cause I drive a cruddy car now. Funny how they target, oppress, and ticket poor, already struggling people for petty reasons, but will let people with nicer cars (or people they know) slide for the same reasons. I owned a newer car for 4 years and was never stopped ONCE and judging from the reviews, it seems they are more interested in meeting county demands and revenues and taking advantage of this small community then actually helping them. Extremely disappointing.

One star is being generous. As a member of the the community I am concerned. I fully believe that Los Lunas PD is doing they can do legally. The concern is how many voices go unheard. I trust most of our officers, but some have me guessing. I have tried to discuss matters and the VREC has refuse to let me talk to the Chief or any Sargents about my concerns that are valid and are about immediate safety. Otherwise, the PD has been professional and understanding. I see them out in the field and see the dedication they have to the community.

I am a convicted felon. Los lunas pd had arrested me two times and i have been to jail here. The police are always polite and professional to me. I know they are just doing their job. So, i appreciate being treated professionally. Also, one time my truck broke down in main street and a cop took me home, helped me carry all my groceries to the door, and said have a good day. Try getting that in Albuquerque hah !

I have never had a bad experience with any of the officers. They always wave back. And when I need them to come check something out they always come promptly and secure the situation.
