Upon arrival, you are instantly met with iconic arches which offers a picturesque view of the grounds & sea. The exterior of Hammond Castle is very stunning & the interior is equally just as stunning. I honestly didn’t know much about the man himself, John Hammond Jr but came to learn about why he created this castle, the incredible artifacts he collected throughout his life, his inventions as well as his sense of humor. I would love to learn even more about his life after visiting this castle. Hammond Castle is quite remarkable and worth trip if you are visiting the area.
Absolutely beautiful. Tour guide was awesome and we were the last tour. So many different architectural eras in one castle. Hammond was a genius and maybe a TAD eccentric!! The weather was stormy so the waves were crashing around the shoreline making for great pictures outside.
I cant wait to come back and spend more time here. Truly exceptional and an enjoyable history lesson. Like walking through time, multidimensional experience. Our tour guide John was awesome too, highly entertaining and informative.
Fantastic experience! The tour guides were a wealth of knowledge on medieval history, the objects and architecture of the castle, and the personal life of John Hays Hammond Jr., its creator. Latin language enthusiasts will find an abundance of written Latin on the walls, door frames, window panes, books, and tombstones in the museum.nnMaureen in the gift shop was very helpful in my recent purchase.
Awesome museum castle with many kinds of architecture and artifacts from all over the world! One of a kind place, it's hard to explain, the castle is so unique. Great social distancing tours, many tour guides throughout to answer any questions, and some of the tour allows you to go look around on your own, which is nice because there's so much to see. Beautiful outside gardens and oceanfront land! You could spend hours here - look everywhere, there are artifacts & cool detail in every corner of the castle! Clean restrooms and gift shop, you can order tickets online, in advance, to reserve a tour.
