Harwood Museum of Art

The Harwood is perfect for an afternoon. It's just large enough to have a good variety of work, but you can easily take it all in with just an hour or two visit. On Sundays they also have free admission for Taos residents!

This is a nice little museum. I especially liked a temporary exhibit about merchandise from The Party Store epitomizing our wasteful consumer culture. But I must emphasize the smallness of this museum. One can see the whole place in about half an hour.

There are a variety of paintings honoring Native American culture, still going strong. Plus the home/museum is filled with Hardwood's magnificent carpentry. It's a gem.

Very nice museum. I think we saw everything. If you've never been here do stop.

I was blown away by Agnes Martin’s room. The books in the gift shop were great! It was difficult to keep myself from buying all the things.
