Have wanted to visit Dwan Sanctuary on United World College campus for last 1.5 years. You need to stop at the Visitors Center for pass key on weekends. Not sure the procedure on weekdays. While public Access to the campus is not allowed, one is able to go to the DD. And on the way up, you will see the fabulous Montezuma Castle....wow!nnNice little walk up the path to Dwan Sanctuary. Boyos 94 year Grandmother had no problem walking up the beautiful path.nnDwan Sanctuary is a wonderful meditation room. Grandmother had no idea how prisms made on walls. (She never saw Pollyanna with Haley Mills.)nnIf you need a break from life, please stop at the Dwan Sanctuary.
Super cool place to check out if cruising through Las Vegas! Also, several natural hot springs right across the stream from the building. You will enjoy it!
Gorgeous, peaceful space just outside of Las Vegas. Checking in with the security guard was quick and he gave us directions to the sanctuary which is at the back of the campus (it's the only part of the campus you can get out and look at). I went on a Sunday, and there was a youth choir practicing in the space making it absolutely magical. I imagine some parts of the years are better than others, but just make sure to go on a sunny day.nnP.S. dogs aren't allowed on the campus but if you're traveling through with your pup just keep them in the car and there shouldn't be any issues!
Amazing Space! Perhaps best enjoyed in quiet or familiar groups-- or solitude. A precisely-angled array of prisms capture and disburse the sun's radiant spectrum of colors into the room. Plenty of inspaces about the room to reflect from. Important: You must check in with ID at the visitors center to be escorted in, a necessary effort to protect the sanctuary from vandalism. The steward will also be able to inform of people already there, in case you'd like a quiet experience. It's definitely worth it!
The public only gets to visit on scheduled tours - but I'm guessing the kids and staff enjoy this space!
