Coastal is a good choice for a charter school in this area. This is our 3rd year. Although we only have 1 child attending now, as we opted for private school for the older 2 starting this year, we would definitely recommend the school. Of course, it’s not for the faint of heart. You DO have to teach. The environment is safe and clean. The kids are polite, they offer art and music, and they have a cute art show. You do, on occasion, run into a kid who introduces your child to “words” you don’t approve of, so it’s not an unrealistically sheltered environment, but it’s better than most when dealing with a public institution. A new curriculum was recently adopted, which was good because the old one was outdated, but we personally did not find the new choice to be a good fit for our older kiddos. Overall, this is a good school choice, as long as you do your job as a parent and teach your child.

This school is a blessing. The kids are amazing citizens. It has a school culture like no other and my two children are very happy with their teachers. There are so many options to allow flexibility within their learning styles. Perfect for our family.

We love Coastal Academy! We have been here since kindergarten and love it. The quality of kids that attend here are amazing. We really appreciate the character building they place in their children. We love the flexibility and classes offered.

Great Charter school in North County San Diego, the teachers are great and my daughter has been attending it for quite some time and loves it. The school is pretty new, only over 10 years old and has lots of resources. Just one minus as they got rid of their library to make more space for classes, otherwise great school.
