An absolute beautiful and iconic venue in Brooklyn! The Brooklyn Museum is a must-see attraction for tourists and locals. They host various events open to the public along with a seasonal Salsa Dance Party! Definitely find out what's going on by visiting their site or signing up for their newsletter. Absolutely loved it. Proper physical distancing as well as sanitizing booths. The pieces on display, the ones tucked away in the visible storage, and the overall architecture of this museum was stunning. Would definitely recommend it to locals and visitors alike. A place worth taking the time and having a visit.
I've been to NYC a few times but never the Brooklyn Museum. One of my friends who lives in Brooklyn suggested it, and I had some time to kill before my flight so we went to check it out. I was definitely surprised at all of the different kinds of art they had and impressed by the exhibits! I was lucky enough to see The Dinner Party and it was pretty incredible.
There are many rooms dedicated to art. These are paintings, monuments, sculptures, furniture and other pieces of art. The building itself is made in a very interesting way, apparently, a glass part was attached to this building, and it looks pretty nice. There is also an open area through two floors under a glass roof, which is also interesting and beautiful.
This museum is a hike if you're outside of Brooklyn, but it's worth the fellowship of the ring journey. It's all gorgeous Corinthian columns on the outside echoed visually inside with exposed brick and hallway after hallway of beautifully quiet exhibition rooms. Unlike the lovely but sterile Met or the lovely but soulless MoMa, the Brooklyn Museum maintains a sense of neighborhood, of community, from the moment you set foot inside.
