Always enjoyable exhibits. Especially during Christmas time !
It might not be the best or the most impressive of its kind but it’s definitely a worth stop-by. A small but very distinctive selection of pieces on the second floor and the basement floor came as an unexpected surprise. One of the hidden gems of East Village.
Even though I've lived in the East Village for almost 6 months now, I did not know of this place until my friend brought me here, and I was pleasantly surprised. Sadly, it was very empty for a weekend afternoon, but the staff was kind, and as someone who knew very little about Ukrainian history and culture, it was a worthwhile time learning.
fascinating place for history lovers. the individuality of each of these small museums spread across the city, in history it shows we havent diverted much as humans from times to times or having a different race as a differential. will keep visiting new ones. one of the reasons you must to love this place
This is an excellent small museum. As of April 2019, the main gallery on the first floor has an exhibit of Ukrainian history (the struggle for independence circa 1917-1921), the second floor exhibit covers Ukrainian Easter eggs and wooden churches, and the basement gallery has exhibits on traditional hats and head coverings as well as an interactive art display. There are bilingual exhibit labels throughout the museum. The small gift shop has a nice selection of books and other items. I definitely enjoyed the 75 minutes I spent here.
