I loved going to school here when I went. It just had on overall better experience than you could get at Draper Elementary.

My parents have lived behind Oak Hollow Elementary for over 18 years, I myself attended 4th grade there the year it opened. Their backyard is separated from the school yard by a 6 foot cement retaining wall and chain link fence on top. For years children have harassed their dogs, poked their eyes and thrown rocks at the dogs and their home. Children have shouted and shaken the fence until we would come outside to throw their balls back, that they had thrown over. Despite the trouble children can sometimes cause, my parents have loved hearing their laughter and their playing. Kids will be kids after all, and they chose to buy a home there. That has all ended since Julie Mootz has become Principle. On Friday some fourth grade boys were next to the fence of my parents’ home talking about naked women and what they would do if they got their hands on a third grader. My mother happened to be outside and told them they were disgusting and to go somewhere else. The boys came back today at lunch with a band of other children “saying that’s the lady, right there” They cursed at her and slammed the fence. At the advice of neighbors my mother took a picture so that she could identify them to the Principle Julie Mootz. The children notified the aid that she had taken pictures and Julie Mootz came out to tell my mother (as the children were at the fence) that she was harassing the children and it was illegal to take pictures or talk about her, the situation, or the school on social media. Julie Mootz was very rude to say the least and threatened to call the police on my parents, even after they explained what was going on. Dear Principle Mootz, if you are worried about pictures perhaps you should put up chain link slats. Or apologize for the situation, make sure there are enough aids outside to keep everyone safe. I believe there is a district law that is supposed to protect home owners by keeping children 10 to 15 feet away from fence borders. At one time, there was a wonderful principle who even painted a line on the grass to help keep the children away from the boarders. Please see the attached pictures of worried parents and grandparents.
