Looked like a really cool place to checkout. Unfortunately it was closed when I went, but I took a few shots from the air to check it out. Definitely going to come back but next time I’ll make sure they’re open
This place is magical. Roy came outside upon our arrival to collect the fee of $10 as stated on websites. We were prepared for that and I absolutely agree with his fee- this is his personal home and all of his work. The sculptures are absolutely amazing.. he is very talented artist. Make sure you call ahead to be sure he is welcoming visitors that day. He was very pleasant and professional and even gave us a postcard as a parting gift. Definitely unlike anything I have ever seen before. Make sure you wear long pants as it is in a field setting so there are knats flying about. Otherwise it’s definitely pretty cool!
Beautiful work! It's impressive the way the artist brings marble and concrete to life. The expressions of the human figures are incredibly warm and peaceful.
It requires a couple mile detour on hilly dirt roads but worth the trip. A sculpture has turned his home and gardens into a unique, quirky park of giant heads and miniature castles. There's a lot of other interesting sculptures, and the pastoral view of the rolling, green countryside is serene and beautiful. You can see it all in about 10 minutes if you're short on time, but there's a sculpted bench and it's a peaceful spot to sit and sketch if you have time to linger.
If you’re considering checking this place out and have the time to drive up, then you definitely should stop by. Please make sure to call in advance and make sure they’re open to visitors on that particular day! There was a parking fee of $10 per vehicle, but that’s not bad at all. Roy and Mary were very welcoming and friendly. They were open to questions as they worked around the field and even let us check out the private ponds on the other side of the road.nnI must say this was one of the coolest sculpture galleries I’ve been too! All the sculptures are handmade. There are many pieces big and small, made of marble, concrete and metal. And there’s even an enormous head sculpture that you can enter and climb up to get an astonishing view of the area! Make sure you really take your time to explore the area, you don’t want to miss anything. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone considering it.
