Most of the teachers do not have interest in your student if they're behind. They tend to not want to help those students excel and work with them to bring in results. The school lacks leadership from the previous superintendent and current principal. The school feels they are not liable for any bullying that occurs to certain students. They only apply their bully policy to those who they feel may need it. No discipline or policy enforced within the school from the staff. YOU will be lucky if anything is ever done when incidents occur to your child or others are bullying your child.

I have a daughter starting 3 grade this year. I am so impressed with how they pick the perfect teacher for my daughter.Every year I want a teacher I think will be best then I meet there choice and in no time I realize they nailed it with the perfect choice for her not me.I want to tell any parent who is worried about what school for there child I tell you Island Lske Elementary is amazing every teacher we have had is amazing to are child there care and support is first class. I had Are older boy in private school and we had problems that I thought were flat out wrong.We checked for best Elementary schools decided on Island Lake moved to Shoreview and never looked back. It starts at the top .The Principal Todd Durant is top notch .Great with the kids and parents as well as the support staff they address are issues timely and I feel with care.Even there drop off with the kids is a well oiled machine with a retired Sheriff keeping the kids and parents safe.I highly recommend Island Lske Elementary.Thanks Stephen
