This little museum is worth a quick trip back in time. The jail is really cool and the historical sheriff's house connected to it is well restored and full of interesting artifacts. Knowledgeable guides give a great tour with a well presented history of Northern Michigan.
We went to the Museum on a class field trip with 2nd Graders. It was such a great time for all! Loads of information and some hands-on stuff for the young ones... Like being put in the slammer!
This has been here since I was a kid. They always had the best tours.
Unless I cannot read and understand hours they were closed when they were supposed to be open
