Love this place. We have been staying here for years. I remember driving by 30 years ago when we would visit my aunt on the island, and always thinking it would be a wonderful place to stay and we were right. Its just a really well laid out up place with several cottages along the tidal river around the island. I've been coming to the island over 30 years and many of them have been to these cottages. They treat us like family, and welcome all of the guests the same. Its wonderful. A home away from home when you are looking for the best place to stay in Maine.

Great family oriented cottages. Very clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils. Drake's Island beach is down the street. Nice solar heated pool. (Treated with saline instead of chlorine, much less harsh) Good coin - op laundry with two sets of machines. It back up to a wildlife preserve so it is very quiet and sunrise is beautiful. Pedestal style charcoal grills and picnic table . Lots of well manicured lawn for the kids to play. Our family of four has stayed at other, more expensive cottages in Wells and we like this place much better. The website does not do it justice. We look forward to coming back next summer. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

For the past three years, my girlfriends and I spend a week in October here and it is simply perfection! Less than a mile from the beach, easy walking distance, and fronting the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, it's the perfect get-away location; quiet, natural beauty surrounds the lucky folks who have found this gem. We stay in a two bedroom cottage, one room with twin beds and the other one a queen. It has a fully equipped kitchen right down to the wine glasses, a small table and chairs, a comfy living room and recently updated bath. Although it's near many good restaurants (the Maine Diner is practically around the corner) that are easily accessible and great shopping, there is a sense of peace and calm and getting away from tourism at CITL. I can't recommend this enough! Susan and Charlie are lovely people and their little corner of the world is mine, too, for one short, too short, week every year.

Quaint, quiet and off the beaten path. Close to Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. A great place to escape and relax.
