I’ve met Gomez (through a friend) several times and spent some time with him. Gomez is NOT a racist! I admit his comment was not politically correct, but he was being sarcastic. He also manned up and apologized for his actions. He may of been having a one star day, but he still wears the star. He’s out there every day risking his life for the community. He’s solved murders of peoples loved ones and continues to do his best to keep the community safe.

Are you going to tell me that Officer Gomez is simply being disciplined and not fired for doing this? I can understand an officer having a bad day, but to detain these kids in part because of the color of their skin is unacceptable. I hope you make the right decision here because we all know what would happen if the races were reversed.

Detective Gomez should be summarily terminated. He is an abject racist and even worse, he has an uncontrolled temper as well as power and control issues. Anyone familiar with risk assessment would immediately recognize he is a liability to that department and town. Mark my words, if he is not terminated, he WILL be the source of a major problem for them in the future..
