I used this station to turn around once during a weekend joyride. Although Harvey is known for being a rough town, I didn't feel unsafe at all while waiting like five minutes to catch a northbound train. Leaving the station might be a different story, but the platform itself isn't terrible, at least in my experience. Now, the surrounding area is definitely bleak (think Gary, Indiana), but that's a different story. The station itself isn't too special, it does its job well but doesn't really go above and beyond.
It's always on time
The Metra in Harvey has only one good feature, and that is. The train usually arrives on time.nEverything else is (Buyer Beware)nThe neighbor hood is ghetto but worst then that is the boys who suppose to serve and protect are a punch of Modern day bandits. Be careful going through good ol Harvey.
It's dirty needs remodeling I pay too much for the metra station to look that way
