Used the drive-through. Long line but easy ordering and quick delivery. I had the Italian beef with sweet peppers. Excellent; next time I'll get the Big Beef size. The onion rings were just OK - nothing special. The chocolate shake was really good. Staff were all pleasant and efficient.

Excellent customer service! Excellent food! It's a really nice addition to the Springfield area. Their delivery service is awesome- the drivers are always so nice. (I don't understand the negative reviews based on price- any person that has ever been to a Portillo's knows that it's not 'cheap'. If you're looking for cheap food- go back to McDonald's and save Portillo's for the rest of us. ud83dudc4d)

The Italian Beef Sandwiches are great. However I do think sweet peppers should come with it instead of separate charge. Go to Sonic and taste their onion rings (very good). Yours are over cooked and dried up. This time I requested they not over cook the rings. When she handed me the sack I again asked if they were over cooked and was told “Oh No” but when I got home they were petrified again. Take a hint from Sonic on it.

The Portillo's of Springfield, Illinois is top notch. The Italian beef sandwich is terrific and reasonably priced. I went through the drive thru and although they were busy, the line moved quickly. The teenagers at both windows were very courteous. This was my first time to visit Portillo's. The next time I am in Springfield, I will be back!

I now have 1 less reason to visit Chicago. That's an absolute win! Our family has loved Portillo's since we first had it a few years back and now we can have it whenever we want. This new location is very nice and lives up to the reputation. 5 Stars!
