By far, the most enjoyable part of living in New England, has been being able to see the USS Massachusetts, up close. Big Mamie is a marvel of engineering, shockingly large, and gives you a touching experience of walking the same paths, as the brave sailors who manned her during the war. This is a bucket list type of experience, especially if you have never seen a battleship up close. The only downside, is that she sadly does not have enough funding, or staff, to keep her in tip top condition. I hope that we are able to preserve her indefinitely, but she does need our support to keep this piece of history alive.

The museum is very easy to locate and has quite a few warships to explore. The smaller exhibits are interesting and worth taking the time to check out. Definitely takes a while to see everything so make sure you have a few hours to your the place. It is one of the only museums that has an East German vehicle from the cold war on display. Definitely worth a visit.

What an amazing experience! We were able to freely explore all of the ships at our own pace. The models and exhibits were fascinating. My only regret was being unable to go all the way up in the superstructure. I wouldn't take small children or anyone that has trouble moving up and down tight ladders.

We had a wonderful day today visiting!nIt was a great teaching experience for my 10 year old daughter! May we never forget those who gave all so we can enjoy our freedom today!nMake sure to donate to help preserve this historical place!

Never been to Battleship Cove before. It is a worthwhile visit!! On our last day of a visit to Plymouth, MA, we found an ad for Battleship Cove on a map of Plymouth and decided we could visit BC as a detour on our way back home to NH. We purchased our tickets online, the receptionist was terrific and confirmed our purchase upon our arrival and we had free reign to visit any ship in any order. It was clearly marked to wear face coverings and there were arrows to keep visitors going in a common direction. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon. Hardly anyone there, so we had no problem going in and around the ships/submarine, seldom running into other people. The PT boat exhibit was shut as well as the Carousel. We spent such a long time on the USS Massachusetts that we were pretty spent, but we carried on to visit the USS Lionfish, USS JPK and the Hiddensee. Luckily those were smaller vessels, so did not take as long to see. There are a lot of videos of prior officers of the ships who worked in specific areas talking about their experiences. If you have a whole day, it will fill your day! We filled 2 hours just on the USS Massachusetts and we didn't stop to listen to every video or read every informational board. The tickets allow you to visit for 2 days in a row. If we didn't live so far away, we would have definitely gone back. Very cool!!
