Amazing zoo, even in the winter. Animals seem happy and well cared for. Very clean. A must stop for all!
When my kids was small, we went once a week for few hours. My suggestion (if possible) avoid weekend or May (full of school trips) or summer time. Monday would be least crowd. If you have to go during that time, plan it accordingly. Visit either early morning for easier parking or around 1 pm since most morning people left for lunch. But the best time would be 3 or 4 pm, weather already cool especially in fall/autumn season. Exhibit said close around 6 pm but most likely still open till late. We often stay till 7 pm or start walking to exit around 7 pm. They don't chase people out especially when weather is nice. We enjoyed the playground, digging area etc.Anyway I can't say enough about this zoo. MUST VISIT! And they always make some improvement and make it interesting every year. Most zoo that we visited in US, can't compare with this one.
I definitely know why it is rated one of the best zoos in the world. I've seen dozens of zoos across the world and its hard not to agree. A fantastic layout with an amazing selection of animals. Really easy to navigate through and walk around. Everything is really reasonably priced - including the gift store. The baby animals (at the time the tiger cubs and a cheeky orangutan) were the highlight!
This is, without a doubt, one of the nicest zoos I have ever been in. It is clean. Most of the animals live in natural exhibits. The restaurants, although busy at peak times, have good food at reasonable prices. Feeding the stingrays was one of coolest experiences that my family has had together. 100% recommend!!
Get here early and stay the entire day. Then come back and do it for the next week. That's the only way you'll be able to see all there is to offer here. I can't believe how large this Zoo has become and they are currently in construction mode to add even more parking and space! I can't wait to see what it's like when I visit next.
