Cockayne Farmstead

Amazing place, frozen in time. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave a fantastic tour. The house feels so interesting. I really really hope they get all the funding they need to preserve everything here. What an incredible step back in time.

Extremely interesting history here...the tour was phenomenal. This house is literally a time capsule...untouched other than a few necessary repairs. Highly recommended visit, especially for those who love and appreciate history. There is also an Indian mound behind the house...I've lived in the area all my life and was totally unaware of Moundsville's second, smaller, less famous Indian mound.

Very beautiful original homestead. I was so happy to see that the integrity of the house was kept. Interesting to see and learn the history of the family. Highly recommend if you're looking for some history.

1800's thru work's time capsule, very rustic and original.

I have been here a few times and I stopped today and asked for permission to hide a geocache on the property.
