A tiny $5 dollar fee was required for an unforgettable journey of a very important part of history that is no longer taught in schools. In addition , the yearly reenactment down the road puts into perspective and reinforces the fortitude and reason why America is the greatest Country on Earth.

One of my favorite places to be. An oasis in Strasburg. Usually well maintained, has fire ring, fire wood, picnic tables, benches, trash cans, recycling, dog waste bags, also usually not very busy. Excellent visitor's center. Nice area to take a short walk or a date, in addition to anyone taking-interest-in or learning about history/environment/caves. I mostly have lunch and picnics here, and rarely walk my dog - (ticks are in abundance). I also do yoga, but occasionally see painters and writers receiving some inspiration here. Although the cavern entrance is closed, you can still read about its significance, and view two the other caves, as well as the mountains and down into the valley.

Highly recommend a visit to this beautiful Civil War Museum and gift shop. This well maintained museum contains numerous original pieces that are meticulously documented and beautifully arranged. Several pieces of art, flags and an amazing wall-length mural add much beauty and character. Encluded in the small entrance fee are two films, one of which quite excellently tells the history of Cedar Creek Battle (filmed during a re-enactment). The grounds are beautiful and have a short trail, earthworks and even a few picnic tables. Jackie was working the day we visited and she shared a wealth of information. She was so nice and friendly.nThank you Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation for your hard work and dedication.

First place I visited, the museum is small, but the ladies there were knowledgeable about the area. Great place to visit

Great little museum rich in history and a great place for kids and adults to learn about the civil war and different areas where battles took place. It is 5 dollars for entry per adult. They offer an educational video in the beginning which lasts 45 mins roughly. After the video you are invited to look around the museum. They display different tools and things used in the civil war era and geographical locations on a 3d map/ grid. Outside they have a trail that you can trek and see different trees and informational stops along the small hike. Very fun!
