This is a wonderful little gem filled with local history. The volunteers here are helpful and eager yo share knowledge and stories from the area. Be sure to check out the train set up on the weekend.

My children (4 and almost 2) and I went to the museum on a Saturday. We arrived and the kids already saw the train, they were very excited. Its definitely a very nice museum and the kids had a great time running around. We also were able to see the model train 'show' in one of the trains. That was awesome, very impressive. We also enjoyed going into the caboose.nVery nice set up. Maybe not appropriate for very small children but definitely a must see if you are in the area.

Go see the caboose! It alone is more than worth the price of admission. It has the bunk where the crew slept, the cupola set up for viewing, the dining area, and kitchen area all set up. It is amazing. So many of the cabooses are either not restored or empty shells. It was amazing.nnThe museum has other fine exhibits too. The section on pottery was educational. There were even pottery pieces that you were allowed to pick up in the center of the room. You could feel the grooves put in by the potter's hands.nnThe museum itself covers the entire period of Strasburg history from the Native Americans to the 1990's. With many if not all of the exhibits donated by people in the community, it gives you a sense of the place and the people.

This small museum provides a great deal of information on the small town of Strasburg. Run by volunteers for almost 50 years, it is worth a visit. If you love trains check out the display of trains shown on Saturdays.
