People working continued to.remind us they were closing @ 4. We arrived at 245. Lady was mopping down stairs and as soon As she seen we were.coming down stairs she asked if we checked In and if we were aware they would be closing soon. Liked the layout and the TRUE History just.nit fond of Greeting we recieved.

I loved the Basement!! so wondrous.
Always closed. As tourists, we come to Matagorda and Bay City often but the museum is always CLOSED on the weekends. So we decided to try for Monday, Labor Day and again closed.
They are never open!!! How can visitors or tourists learn about the history of the town if you arer never open? They are closed on the weekends and holidays plus only open half a day when they are open. We've tried to go the Matagorda County Museum six times and they are closed everytime.
