Visited today to turn in the paper for property taxes and wanted to share my observations. The details stating that the driver’s license and car registration must show same address needs to be listed on the front of the form, note the back. That’s a detail that should be made very clear. The gentleman greeting folks outside the door at suite 1000 is a delight. It’d be great if his excellent disposition could rub off on the lady inside. I understand that I didn’t have the paperwork as needed, but having that news delivered in an abrupt manner just wasn’t necessary. It takes little to nothing to be kind.

I needed some information about the vehicle/property tax. I was transferring my tag to a newer vehicle but wasn't sure about the tax thing. Teresa is a great lady. Very friendly and professional. She told me that, one can transfer the tag to another vehicle without paying taxes (if they were paid within the last 11 months). Thank you Teresa ud83dude42

Called up there to figure out how to pay my car taxes and the lady was super rude to me and then hung up on me.

Be prepared for multiple credit card charges, just to do a simple payment. Not only does the agency charge you a credit card transaction fee which cannot be charged during the same credit card transaction (which decade is this?), they are using an ancient credit card connection system that has to reconnect to the credit card company every time. So the last time I went in, the clerk keyed in the wrong amount the first time, which calculated the wrong transaction fee. So after she ran my credit card (1) for the wrong amount and (2) the wrong transaction fee, she had to do it again for (3) the correction on the amount, (4) to reverse the original transaction fee, then (5) the correct transaction fee.nnIn all, yes she had to run my credit card 5 times, requiring me to type in my PIN 5 separate times in front of a long line of people that wrapped around out the door and down the hall. And remember, every time they run a credit card, the office gets charged a fee by the credit card company. The entire process is utterly ridiculous.nnAdd to all of this credit card nonsense the fact that the office to actually determine how much your taxes are is a completely separate office for some reason, so you have to visit multiple offices in the same building just to pay a tax.nnHowever, considering the confusing building layout with seemingly random suite numbers that seem randomly placed in multiple poorly labeled buildings on site, the employees are all generally nice and helpful and are subjected to the same nonsensical floorplan and rules that the rest of us have to follow, so it's not worth it to take it out on them. They are in the same boat.nnMaybe the oddest thing about this location is that although it's the largest government building in the largest county in the state, it has almost no security. Anywhere. Doors remain unlocked and unwatched throughout the business day, and it's not uncommon for homeless people to wander around from office to office bothering residents and employees. It's a very strange sight.
