Wonderful Zoo! So many animals! Great enclosures for actually seeing the animals, too! I loved that they rotate some of the animals into different exhibits so that the animals get extra enrichment searching for different smells. This makes it fun for the kids, seeing the animals so active! We came in the afternoon on a Tuesday. No crowds at all. We enjoyed exploring! Kids favorites were the mountain lions and the otters. The otters were SO active, doing backflips off the glass. Even my 2 year old was giggling hysterically. The mountain lions were just sitting there, but looking regal and way more massive than I had imagined them being. My 4 year old is still talking about them a week later. We can't wait to come back for more great zoo memories!
We always enjoy our time at the zoo. Bring plenty of money if you want to do anything extra. A Canopy lunch will add up fast we spent $45 for 4 people. Visit the stingrays for $4 (extra to feed), camel rides are $6 a piece and it's only one circle, tram rides for 4 people will be $25. Lots of good walking and amazing sites and memories will be made though.
Great Zoo to have a family day or even a romantic date with a loved one. Aquarium is temporarily down but it'll be back and new attractions are popping up all the time. Be sure to visit the Oklahoma City Museum of Science directly next door for more fun.
Actually we were disappointed. So many of the displays were closed. Nothing was posted regarding closures prior to paying the entrance fees. The glass for viewing the animals was so dirty or damaged made it difficult for taking a decent photo. The animals were lethargic, sleeping or hiding. None appeared happy to be there. We did enjoy the otters. They were playful and interactive. We won't be recommending this zoo to family or friends.
It's the zoo go see animals and have fun! This play ground is located by the lake and the merry go round. The indoor exhibits are still closed but you can still ride the tram and train.nnThe staff is friendly and all the food places seemed to be open. They also serve beer inca stand down from the entrance for the parents
