Our family has had a wonderful experience at Adams. The teachers, staff and administrators are wonderful and really care about the success of the children. The diversity within the student and staff population is great and that is something that was important to our family when choosing a school. There are plenty of opportunities for parents to volunteer both in the classroom and at school-wide events. If you like the year round schedule, Adams is a great option!!
We are leaving this school. While we love the year round calendar, Adams participates in those anxiety ridden behavior charts. They only serve to make the good students anxious and do nothing to fix the behavior of the children with real issues. My daughter has a terrible child in her class that abuses so many other kids, and they do nothing about him. The Principal is even leaving; that is truly indicative of what is occurring there. Hopefully a new Principal will come in and revamp the school.
I was a student from August 1991 to June 1992, and then from August 1993 to June 1995 - and it had its ups and downs (and things I would love to regret), but I somehow turned out OK in the 1994-95 year before I moved to Underwood Elementary in the 1995-96 year. I even managed to make friends with some teachers and their children along the way between 1994-95. This school was the start of my adventures in the Wake County Public School System.
The teachers and faculty at Adams are wonderful and they have an amazing PTA. The whole school is very inviting and we are very fortunate to call this our school.
Adams elementary is a great school not everything is perfect but the teachers care i have had the best teachers including :Mrs .Dawley Mrs. Fye Ms. Jonkman Mrs. ciccarello and Mr. gilewicz the specials teachers are amazingally nice and i will miss mr hooper
