The park is open....the visitors center with all the displays is closed till further notice due to the pandemic...SAD.nNative American Days and all other community activities at the site are currently on hold.nFacility needs a major facelift. You still can't climb to the top of the big mound.
Good history but museum and brochures closed due to Covid19. Wish they had the brochures and maps on the outside so we knew where to walk and what to look for.
Small, but interesting native American museum. Free admission. Glad that the local people decided to preserve this site.
I learned some new things about my country and its previous owners. I walked around and read plaques and saw artifacts, checked out the grounds, a good visit, until i was getting ready to leave. Then it got great. A guy,i failed to get his name, a park employee, was in the parking lot and was so very knowledgeable and happy to tell us more about the mounds and the area and so much more.
I love it's history and displays.
