Small World Montessori School

My little 21month old has been going to this school since late January and it has been great. The teacher Miss Anna really cares and is nurturing to him. He was acclimated after 1 week. They also provide good food for him and allowed us to send him in cloth diapers. Very accommodating school! Love it

I would not recommend this school unless you have an extremely well behaved toddler. For one you are paying $575 a month from 7:30am-4:30pm. In addition, when you enroll your child you pay several fees including a $200 materials fee. However, whenever there's a holiday the school request money,materials (paper,cardstock etc..), or food items for the class. I decided to enroll my son into this school because I was promised he will be in a smaller class setting and he will receive 15 minutes of one to one learning with the toddler coordinator.Knowing my child's personality I figured that will give him breaks and time away from the whole group. This was not true. There's over 15 students in the classroom and the toddler coordinator (Who is a sweetheart I won't discredit her) was hardly ever on site due to being at different school sites. All the resources she was willing to provide to my child throughput the day did not happen. The teachers and staff complained about my two year old's behavior everyday.They made allegations that he needs to work on listening. THEY HAVE NEVER SAID ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT HIM which is concerning because I began to feel like their actions towards him was in frustration daily. Toddlers are little people, if your boss complained about you daily and also acted as if you annoyed them, would you be willing to come to work with a positive attitude daily? I would only hear positive news if I asked how he was doing academically. I was promised that my child will receive services and accommodations that were never received. The teacher complained to me that my toddler whines because when he needs assistance putting on his shoe or pulling up his pants after using the restroom. THIS IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR A TWO YEAR OLD. She complained that he needs to learn to ask for help which is true but as teachers what are you doing to assist him daily or how are you modeling this for him? The new assistant director stated that the montessori method is about a hour of quiet learning and she feels that he is not fit or interested in the program. However,what happened to the one to one learning within that hour where he is pulled for 15 minutes to complete lessons to track his progress? Parents if you are reading this please do not take this review lightly. It may be your child one day because not all children are quiet and perfect! Send your child to a facility who stands on their words. Send your child to a facility who is qualified and understand milestones for toddlers. Early childhood professionals have to learn to be patient and show the kids love. Tough love only makes the children despise you. My son is two and any parent knows that two's are filled with unwanted behaviors and every week your child will start a new behavior that you will recorrect (Falling, kicking, biting, crying, saying words). Obviously, this school needs professional development trainings to ensure they understand toddler milestones. This is also included in the dcf trainings they are suppose to have.

Its a great School for kids. The school staff and the owners are very professional and amazing people who care a lot about the kids and have amazing educational program for kids with different abilities. Specially this time of the year during the summer breaks they have interesting combination of educational and recreational programs.nMy two kids have being going to this school for last two years and I have no complains till date. Both of them are so connected to the school and teachers that very often they would miss the school on weekends.nThe school provides a detailed feedback on the kids progress and their achievements for a defined term on a periodic basis and has several platforms for discussion with the staff and other parents, and unlike other schools the owner and staff are always available to hear from parents.
