I was incarcerated on February 14th 2021 and released 12 hours later. I was denied my medication that I need to SURVIVE. I amnDiagnosed panic disorder, ptsd and depression. I had several severe anxiety attacks to the point I was shaking uncontrollably. A family member brought my medications to the jail, and they denied me receiving them. My full name and original prescription was with them. I have had several episodes of convulsions due to missing my doses of medication during my stay. I feel like I don’t matter. What if I died? I can’t believe I was suffering. I found out a family member attempted to bring them AFTER I got released. Mental health doesn’t matter. I don’t matter.
My worst nightmare was losing my dog, Lola. Even worse, late at night. Luckily, I called the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office after a futile search. The kindest, most empathetic person answered my call. After a brief conversation, the good news came! Lola was safe thanks to Deputy Porpilia. Though obviously not his job, he rescued her and took her to Animal Control with a blanket, food and water. Words can not begin to express my gratitude. Lola is my best friend and I knew she was in good hands. I am so fortunate to live in Frederick County and to have the world’s best Sheriff’s Department.
I called them for help because I accidentally locked the keys in my car. They refused to help! The local POLICE Dept was more than willing to help, but this isn't their jurisdiction. How rude.☹ufe0f

I'm visiting from out of state and had a non-emergency situation of which I wasn't sure if I needed to file a police report for involving an iPad. They were very kind, caring and patient. They lowered my stress level without being condescending. I just wanted the citizens of Frederick County, VA to know they should feel proud to be protected by this amazing Sheriff's Department!ud83dude93
