Lovely, old fashioned lodge. I've taken my family three times now. Know what you are getting: an old fashioned place to relax in nature. The main plus here is the common area, with huge windows and a long balcony overlooking gorgeous scenery. The large room is filled with comfy chairs, with books, board games, chatting, sitting and looking at the beautiful mountains. You start to get very relaxed and then you realize why: there are no TVs, no background music, nothing to distract you but nature and yourself and your loved ones. If you are the sort who focuses instead on a spider in your room or some of the food being mediocre, you will not enjoy this place as it deserves.

Nice cabins. A nice lunch with delicious fried green tomatoes. The burgers were very good. And for desert don't miss the blueberry ice cream cake. It is big enough for two, not to be missed.

We stayed here two nights. The first night a bad storm came through and knocked the power out of our building. They moved us to another room very quickly. The new room had a fantastic view of the mountain side.nVery close to the trails and there is a big field right across from the entrance so you can sky watch at night. The overlook at the top of the parking lot is a great place to watch the sunset.nThe maintenance staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our conversations with them about the local area.nDefinitely try the grilled cheese sandwich at the restaurant. It was very delicious and filling. Kids all loved the mac-n-cheese with fruit bowls.
