Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Newport News Airport

Rooms were very cute! Small but cute and had everything you need for a comfortable stay (you're not moving in). Truly the only thing I didn't love was how close the bed is to the bathroom lol!

This hotel does not deserve any star!!! I checked in there last night 02/27/2021 at 9:20pm and had to check out at 11:08pm. When I got there I was told that I had to give a $35 deposit which will be returned to me at check out and it had to be cash. Got to the room and it was filthy, tobacco was on the bed the floor and ash was on the floor as well although I requested a smoke free room. Upon on preparation for be I noticed my skin became very irritated and itchy which only happens when I come in contact with dog hair. I couldn’t take it so l checked out, the woman at the front desks told me that the manager have to inspect my room for me to get my $35 back and she was not in call in the morning. Today 02/28/2021 I called and I was told I could return to the hotel to pick up the deposit. I explain I did not live in the area and was told to call back. Now at 3:56pm I called back and was told that the Money was a cash deposit and that it could not be credited back to my bank account I will have to return to pick it up but the manager won’t be there until Sunday. Why in gods name will you take a deposit that have to be physically picked up from people you know is waiting for a flight or is just visiting. The hotel is next to the airport it’s obvious that we don’t live in the area yet you want us to return to pick up our deposit. This place is trash!!!!

Clean bed, warm shower, plenty of space, nice staff, free wifi and cable. Couldn't have picked a better hotel for the price.

I thought this hotel would be nice given its association with Wyndham, but it wasn’t. First off, the elevator smelled of nothing but cigarette smoke. But I was still hopeful. When we got to our room, there was a really bad musty/mildew smell. To make matters even worse, it was infested with roaches! We must have killed over 15 during the 3 nights we stayed there. It’s very disgusting, and definitely not a place to stay, even if just for a night.

Bugs were walking around on the bathroom sink of this tiny lil, old, outdated, closet sized motel room. I definitely do-not recommend this place at all. The parking area was dark and poorly lit, which potentially could be very dangerous. I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. Have a good day....
