We loved our visit to Luray Zoo! There were so many interesting animals. All of the enclosures were very clean and looked interactive for the animals. The owner took time to answer some questions I had. Our favorite animal was Bella the monkey. She was so sweet and even smiled at us!
I’ve been to every zoo in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and THIS cozy little zoo is my favorite of them all. The owner is super kind too and I appreciate the option he gives to wear a mask or not. Thanks so much for an awesome experience! $12 is a GREAT deal for this place and it goes to an awesome cause!
Fantastic visit with the most down to earth gentleman! Thank you Mr. Mark for showing my family and I such a wonderful time at your fabulous and educational zoo! So many different species and stories of adventure! And to think we almost didn't travel out there to explore your facility! I'm grateful that we did because it was well worth the 1 hr and 38 min drive from our hotel in Sterling lol We definitely will come here again and to Mr. Mark we love your spirit and passion for wildlife and are so impressed with what you have done for the special critters at your rescue zoo! Keep doing what you do best ud83dude42 Thank you again for your great hospitality!
This zoo is very nice. It's more personal cause it's not high. It's got a very nice variety of animals. A beautiful tiger and crazy monkeys who are fun to watch. There's animals you can feed and the kids just love it. The owner Mark seems like a caring animal lover. He's helped us with our snakes. You can tell he has a sweet connection to his animals and them him. Visit as a part of a day in Luray cause it's not that big so it doesn't take long unless you chill and relax and feed animals. There's plenty to do close to it. So, make a day of it.
I generously gave 4 stars. The place needs some work but, understandably, they likely have some funding issues. Hopefully they can get some more donors to improve. They are definitely trying to do some good here but the animals deserve better.
