We've been in the area about a year, outside of Lexington with a residential well. A couple of weeks ago, our water pressure dropped, to the point there was barely a dribble coming from our sink. I normally do my own repair work, but never had well water. After consulting Dr. Google, it appeared that it was either the pressure tank or pressure switch, but, with no experience, I wasn't very confident in my diagnosis, and, although replacing the switch didn't seem too formidable, wasn't at all sure about replacing the pressure tank. I browsed through and priced them, figuring I'd replace both, but then figured I'd better get a pro, or at least someone who had a better idea of what they were doing than I did, to confirm my diagnosis. Back to the internet, I found Beau's name, and, going on nothing more than his AAA rating by the Better Business Bureau, gave him a call.nnAfter hearing we had no water, he was there within an hour. He confirmed it was the pressure tank, and his quote to replace it, including the tank, was close enough to what I'd pay for the tank alone to close the deal, and, to boot, someone who knew way more about it than I did would do the work. Getting into it, he found that there was indeed an electrical problem as well, a corroded-out power cable (not the pressure switch), so strung a temporary one over the ground, and we had water again within two or three hours. He couldn't bury the cable at the time because we'd had a lot of rain and the ground was too wet for his trencher.nnTrue to his word, he came back yesterday and completed the job; his work was outstanding and his price for the whole job more than fair. He was fully prepared both times; I'd come around now and then to see how it was going and watch for a few minutes, and was really impressed with his work. He knew exactly what he was doing with both the well plumbing and the electrical system, and, at one point, produced a piece of test equipment that I've seen on a lab bench but never seen used by an electrician in the field. When he returned to trench in the cable, he came with a real trencher, not the walk-behind consumer model, but the mini-bulldozer things you see the utility companies use.nnI spent a career as an engineer, and so in addition to all this, he had the courtesy of taking the time to tell me what he was doing and show me the faults (and, I've seen a lot of corrosion on a lot of metals before, but never seen a copper wire corroded so badly that it was completely black).nnI would recommend Beau in a heartbeat, with no reservations, and any further work I need done, this is the guy I'm calling.
Renovating my home and was having all kinds of problems trying to get a plumber to come out as they were all too busy. Called Beau and he came out same day to see what needed to be done and provide an estimate. The following week he was out replacing the old, corroded copper pipe and installing a new water softener. His work was excellent and price was reasonable. On top of all that, he guaranteed his work for one year after completion. I'll definitely be calling Beau for any future work I need done.
Beau Knick has been doing plumbing work for us since we moved to Lexington 2+ years ago. Besides being one of the few licensed plumbers in Lexington, he's also a licensed electrician. We have a mid-century home and recently had our kitchen and two bathrooms completely remodeled. Beau handled the plumbing for all three. His work is excellent and fairly priced. We called him recently to repair two plumbing issues unrelated to the remodeling. He was very responsive on both calls (one on a Saturday afternoon), coming out within a couple of hours. Beau does all of his work work, so he doesn't sent an assistant on repair calls. He does small jobs and larger projects and therefore is always in demand. He's honest, experienced, and a problem-solver. If it's all about the work, he's the man for the job.
That awful combination of rude, expensive and poor quality work. What more needs to be said. The last reviewer was lucky he did not show up.
he was not very friendly on the phone, made an appointment for plumbing emergency and he was a no show no call. Completely unreliable.
