Soap Box Laundromat

Owner is really nice, came out to my vehicle to give me a bottle of water while I waited. Facility is really clean and has a lot of machines to choose from! Nice local laundromat.

Best Laundromat in Clinton in my opinion. Owners are super friendly, they keep the place very clean and operating properly.

Became a go to when we had laundry needs that required a lot of separation in a short amount of time this past summer. We have shared laundry between 2 units where I live but inconsiderate residents tend to think of and claim it as there own. I have never had to wait for a machine at the Soap Box any time of day, even with bulk needs this summer.nnThe place is usually very clean except for the stray dryer sheet or sock someone may have missed or dropped. Stands above other local establishments, which can leave me a bit unsettled.nnIt is well lit and safely monitored whether or not the the owner/manager is on-site. When I do run into him, he is very friendly and kind. Has even given bottles of water to other patrons and myself on particularly hot days. I have had nothing but positive interactions with other patrons, something that has been lacking many places during these more tense Covid-times.nnI only have a few recommendation at this time, and it would be to have a number listed to call or text if assistance is needed. I have helped a couple first-time laundromat-goers, and sold my own quarters when the change machine has been finicky.nnI would also love to see a recycling bin for laundry detergent bottles. I order mine in a compastable cardboard box but most still use bottles. It hurts my ud83dudc9awhen I see them in the trash.nnThe site is maintained frequently though, noticeable by the lint traps & coin catchers are always cleaned and emptied, even when there is nobody on-site.nnThanks for being a friendly & reliable needed resource in the community.

Wish I could give no stars. The parking is weird, so my boyfriend and I just picked a spot. The owner immediately came outside and told us we can’t park where we parked, he had a lit cigarette hanging out of his mouth and he had just walked from inside. So, cool you smoke inside with peoples laundry? My boyfriend responded by saying that he didn’t see any parking lines, so he wasn’t sure how to park, then asked if there was a different spot to park. The guy was really confrontational from the get go and started saying things like “this is my place! My rules!” Like some sort of power trip. Told us we couldn’t “just park in the other lot” either so... we just left and went to a different laundry mat. I don’t know how you expect to get customers acting like that, Would definitely never leave my clothes there if my life depended on it.

I used to love this place, is open late, friendly staff and never had anything missing out of machines. However the washers smell so bad of mold and very musty I don't want to wash my clothes in them. You can smell it the minute you walk in. They are getting worse. The doors need to stay open and machines need to be cleaned. Simply adding vinegar to the wash and running them may work or some industrial cleaner. It may be the reason it's never busy. I will be back if the washers smell clean.
