We went on the opening day (since winter). Several animals were still inside due to colder weather (so a jacket is good to remember) there still were plenty outside, so it was worth it. There were much more than I'd have expected in Idaho Falls--I totally recommend.
What a wonderful place and the staff was so kind and helpful.
