Heaven on earth!! After some time boondocking we were ready for hookups. Well we had no reservations, called the park and praise Jesus the super friendly staff told us they would work something out. To our amazement we were given lake front property during labor day week. What!! The park is beautiful, close to Yellowstone, shopping at the west entrance is close. Thankyou Henry's, were home.

Walk to the end of the rim trail and you might just catch a photo op for moose! I wish I would have carried my better camera because these 2 started a playful joust a bit later. You may also see swans in their natural habitat.nHenrys Lake State Park is very much worth the 30 min drive from West Yellowstone entrance. All RV spots are level and clean and with fire pits. Bath house was immaculate. There is a washeteria across the hwy. Make sure you do your part to pick up after your pet!

Awesome campground. Very clean restrooms and showers. HOWEVER, if you are staying in a tent, keep in mind that this place has no dishwashing space. You gotta have your own dishpan.nnAlso, this place is on the lakeshore. The view is incredible but gets windy during the night.

Great place other than the wind and could use some shade trees. Nothing they can really do but wait. The staff is by far the best. So friendly and helpful. Proximity to the lake can’t be beat. I would definitely stay here again. Can’t beat the price either.

Spent 3 nights here in early August 2020. It’s a beautiful campground and state park. The lower campground is “older” with some sites that have shade trees and gravel pads. A few sites sit right near the water or have water views while others don’t as the view is blocked by trees or other campers. The upper campground sits on higher ground and is newer. It has blacktop pads, beautiful views of the lake and mountains from every site but no shade. The view of the lake and mountains is hard to beat. It’s awesome watching weather roll in over the mountains. The only downside is the wind (and that’s not the park’s fault). Two of the three nights we were there it was so windy we couldn’t have a campfire and really couldn’t even be outside as the winds were blowing 45+mph. I was told the winds often come up in this area in the afternoon/evening and I’d guess may vary by month/season. Each morning it was dead calm. Be sure not to leave your awning out and tents might struggle here if the wind is that strong regularly. We didn’t use the shower house so can’t comment on it. We did some biking on the local trails and really enjoyed those as well. The campground was very quiet each night and served as a great home base for our tour of the western part of YNP. If you find this review helpful please give it a thumbs up. Cheers!
