Amazing canyon views!
The country is absolutely beautiful, it has some very rough terrain when not on trails and what not though. You may end up seeing either elk, deer, bighorn sheep, and maybe even mountain goats too.
my god look at all of these kind reviews. four to five stars, let me tell you what, i hate this place! wanna know why? I don't know. it just sucks. Too much canyon, not enough hell.
Amazingly beautiful. Such a great adventure and stop if you are driving through Idaho. We stayed at the canyon Pines RV resort and it was breathe taking along the little salmon river. A must stop.
We came down for a week with my Aunt and Uncle and had an absolutely marvelous time. Campground was small but not so small that it felt invasive when busy. It was always clean, which seems rare for parks anymore. The bathrooms were heated (a blessing), had shower facilities, and were open 24 hours. Wifi was also available for purchase, which was perfect since I work remotely and didn't have to take time off.nnFor the most part, everyone was respectful of quiet hours. Just had one person play loud music after 10 and it only lasted 15 minutes. (Maybe someone said something?)nnThe real highlight of camping here is the wildlife. We listened to the Hoot Owls much of the night. We spotted a Great Horned Owl that was an adolescent. From here you can continue into Hells Canyon all the way to Hells Canyon Dam. We saw Eagles, Deer, Elk, Goats, and lots of other smaller critters.nnAll in all, this is probably the best park I have stayed at in the State of Idaho when it comes to getting out in the middle of nowhere away from civilization. It was a pleasure to talk with the folks from Idaho Power.nnI must also give a shout out to the folks at Idaho Power. During a medical emergency, I hadn't heard back from my Aunt so I started calling all the numbers listed with the Park. One was actually for Idaho Power, and he called me back and was going to try to help us find out if my Spouse and Aunt were ok since we hadn't heard from them (they went back to the park) as I took my Uncle to the ER in Weiser and had been there an hour. My Aunt texted me when I was on the phone so I was able to let him know they were ok. Can't remember his name, but if you're reading this Idaho Power fellow, thank you!!
