Very nice park. We visited in late March, so there was still snow on all the trails and the entrance road was closed. We still wandered about some of the lower trails. Being away from houses and the bustle of the town was relaxing, even though it was all so close by. Made us want to visit later in the year to explore more.

Beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. Fun to go off the trail and hike over boulders. No poison oak, no stinging nettle which I especially appreciated. Views of the forest on all sides and gondola above. I also liked being in CA one minute and NV the next. Very peaceful and stunning park.

Easy access to easy-to-medium level hiking trails from downtown South Lake Tahoe. Beautiful views of the lake within a 1/4 mile hike. Nice vista points. Waterfall hike is easy and doable in under 90 min. Clean bathrooms. Picnic tables. No playground.

Little dude really enjoyed sledding here, was a bit rough but free. Parked at Riley's although likely a bit of a risk, there was paid parking closer ($10)

Nice photo opportunity on the California/Nevada line separating the 2 states. Nice trails with lots of boulders and views of the gondola bringing people up Heavenly Resort. There’s a $10 fee to park all day however we parked at the retail center area near Raley’s store. You can park up to 2 hours enough to take pictures but beware not to exceed it. There’s a security guy that marks your car so if you exceed you’ll get a ticket or you can be towed. We went to purchase something at Raley’s before heading to the park so as not to catch attention.
