We thoroughly enjoyed the Nevada State Museum! We spent 4 hours there. But then we're the kind that read everything. So much history! And after visiting Lake Tahoe it came together. We bought commemorative mint coins (didn't get to see them stamped). The mine was impressively real. The gun collection awesome. Highly recommended!

My family and I had a great time exploring the Nevada State Museum. There is aloy of information packed into a great walking tour. I really enjoyed seeing the old coin mint and the history of the location. It always amazes me as to what our ancestors were able to accomplish using manual labor. This is definitely a great place to visit to learn more about the heritage of the people and state history.

Come early so you can spend a good half day here, and that still won't be enough time to see and read all the great information. Lots of mining history, with rocks, fossils, skeletons, taxidermy collection, geology information, local history, Nevada history, am armory, and more. Very interesting. Lots to see for everyone. I will have to come back and spend more time. Cheap to get in, but RICH in history, information, and awesome stuff!

I come here once a month. 8 dollars for you and your kids get in free. Well worth the educational experience. (I recommend getting stoned beforehand so you can pretend to step in to the past)
