We were there for 3 nights. Room was spacious and clean. I really liked that it has a desk and a chair right by the sofa, so kids can sit there to eat. Because of the pandemic, we mostly ordered food from the Cafe in the hotel and eat in our room..it has a outdoor pool heated to 90F and an entrance to a private beach. We enjoyed both the pool and the beach very much. The hotel also offers some guided activities which we didn't get to participate because our son is too small. Next time we would definitely try to take advantage of those activities.
Let me begin by saying we loved Lake Tahoe! It was our first time! This hotel was in a great location and most importantly the staff who work there were wonderful. But let’s move on to the hotel itself. I don’t believe it qualifies to be in a resort category. The hotel is very worn out and needs to be refreshed and repaired. The rooms are very threadbare and lack any kind of luster. For people who are skiing I guess they’re OK but definitely they need to be brought up to date. The shower wasn’t even cleaned there was soap scum all over it. The paint was peeling on the doors and all over the room. The furniture was second rate and didn’t even fit the spaces correctly. There was a table in the corner that I’m not sure what its function was but it was totally out of place. The whole room was rather beat up. I guess what I’m saying here is for what they charge you— which we were prepared to pay —I feel like the word resort just doesn’t resonate for this location. The beauty of the location and the lake was a priority in my opinion. The tour guide that we had who took us up to the top of the mountain to see monkey rock was great. So those factors sort of override the fact that this is just not in my mind a resort. All in all we enjoyed Lake Tahoe, I just don’t think will be staying there again.we may try some of the lower priced hotels in the area that are not as fancy or don’t claim to be a resort.
I'm actually surprised how unhappy I have been with this hotel stay.nFirst I just want to point out that this is a pet friendly hotel and I've stayed at a LOT over the years due to traveling with my own dogs, from this level of hotel to gross dives. I've NEVER stayed anywhere that I was hearing dogs barking at all times day and night. My first night I even called the front desk around midnight because I had two loud dogs barking (one was definitely a puppy doing the loud high pitched puppy scream) and I couldn't sleep, I've also been woken up due to the noise levels (usually a deep sleeper too)nI don't think me or anyone in my party had any rooms with a better view than the parking lot. Like, pictures did not do the reality justice, but in the opposite way it's normally meant when people say that. I feel I wouldn't have been bothered by the noise and concrete view if I'd been staying at a dive but I just wasn't expecting this.nI'm also not sure where all is inside smoking but in my real life I almost never use my inhaler but I've used it constantly since being here because my lungs just constantly hurt from the smoke. It's less bad if I stay in my room but wondering the halls, picking up food, or trying to gamble it's much worse. I wouldn't stay here again.
The location, facilities, and staff are honestly brilliant. However, it felt as though every single thing was done to nickel and dime us. The food was OK at best and not worthy of the prices. Prepare to spend considerable amounts for food that's simply not worth it.
Great location, awesome window view. Free drinks at casino (as long as your playing). Concierge guide was kinda rude. Coffee shop cashier had an attitude. Great staff at the breakfast cafe and the food was great.
