Otero County Sheriff

I have lived in this county 8 years. I have seen things I never wanted to see. Of, course, I want to live safely and peacefully. Any time the police officers here do anything necessary to keep people safe I have seen them handle situations very well. They keep peace. They keep safety. They have good hearts and common sense. I am greatful and feel safer no matter the administration that is elected in.The officers keep people safe. They seem to see and do what is right. I have seen some really bad circumstances... every time, these officers keep us safe and well while calming down things that could get worse pretty quickly. Just glad they are here.

Since 1987 10 ten times i been.hit by people have been robbed and now I have a body in jail and for the first time I am not single victim there were more! And the hunt begins as for me goin on a long road trip folks! Yeeeee haaaaa!!!!!!

If I could give negative stars I would. This has to be the most useless department I have ever encountered. I have moved around alot, since I was in the military. When we first moved into our trailer, on our own land, we had our generator stolen so we called to make a report knowing there was probaly nothing really to be done but we wanted to try. The Deputy arrives and says we are at fault for not putting up a fence. We moved in 3 days prior mind you. I was taken back but hey it is what it is, then he asks my husband for a drivers license and my husband gives him his ID. The Deputy says I asked for your license don't you have one and my husband responded no Sir I owe child support. The Deputy then says so do you have warrents and proceeded to call in my husbands info. Like really guy. Okay thats the first. Then we call for 2 yahoos racing down the street. We stopped the cars and one flashes a badge. They take off and the Deputies arrive. We tell them what happened and they kniw who it is and tell us not to interfere with police work again because they were chasing them from the highway! Like are you serious! Now I have been waiting for a month for them to come and remove the 3 female stray dogs from our neighborhood. My neighbors have been calling too and all we ever gst told is someone will be out and they are bisy right now. So if you want to feel safe and protected this is not the area you want to live in.

Only get a star since I can’t leave none, these so called officers of peace need to learn not to be ready to pull the trigger at every turn. Officer shot my brothers dog today in a claim of safety issues. Man get the hell out of here with that non-sense. I’m all about backing the badge, but cops out in these areas think they’re above the law cause of their badge.
