Willow Creek Trailhead

Epic hike. Almost too good to share. Not an easy hike but totally worth it. Map says 9 miles in and out with 2800 feet of elevation gain. Not sure how accurate that is. Took us about 8 hours to get to first lake and back. We took a good amount of stops to rest. Heart was pumping. Good chance of seeing goats near the top. The lake is at about 12000 feet. Air thins out. Don’t push it too hard if you’re not acclimated. Have fun! One of the best hikes of my life :)

Amazing!! You pass the creek several times along the way but it's fairly easy to stay dry. The elevation makes the hike difficult, but it's a fantastic trail! We saw several beautiful waterfalls along the way, lush growth, small animals, and then the big finale was the gorgeous mountaintop lake. It took us three and a half hours from the trailhead to the lake. Be prepared for the steep incline in places, but worth it!

Walked here from my camp spot about 25 minutes or more walk. Loved the water didn't get to the waterfalls
