Bear sightings and a mouse infestation!! We stayed in campsite #19 in July of 2020. This is a beautiful campground, and the attendant was very nice, but it has been over-camped. I have camped in Colorado for about 40 years, and I have never come across a campground infested with mice. The moment the sun went down, our campsite was teaming with hundreds of mice; and that's a very conservative estimate. If I put on my flashlight and walked around, they were practically everywhere. My wife was freaked out when a mouse crawled over her bare foot!!nnAlso, we were told by the campground attendant that bear sightings were becoming much more frequent since the campground has become more popular in the last several years. One family packed up and left while we were there because a bear came too close to their campsite. We heard the family yelling at one point and didn't think anything of it. Apparently, they were yelling at the bear. We went hiking that same day and spotted a bear. So, we won't be returning to this campground; it needs to recover from human activity before it is safe. Don't camp here without a gun that can kill a bear. If you bring children, keep a very close eye on them. Be aware that mice carry hantavirus too!

It's very quiet and beautiful. The man that runs the site is friendly and keeps the bounds in good shape.

Quiet and beautiful. Clean restrooms and friendly people.

Amazing zoo. Even with the exhibit closures due to covid there are still plenty of top quality outdoor exhibits and plenty of animals to see. I’m not sure why some people are so stuck up about them having mandatory closures. I’ve been to over 50 zoos and this is in my top 3
