Edward Sargent. You are spelling it wrong. I am there at least two or three times a week hiking with my dog. Love it.
Love this place. Tall meadows. Grass waist high. Elk everywhere making noise. A great place to be in nature with no ATV's or vehicles allowed. Peaceful.
20000 acres of wild land access. Hike, hunt, horseback, fish, cycle or just veg. Wonderful views. Note, one needs the proper permits to partake in some activities. Aerial closure during elk calving season (up to July 1st).
Beautiful place for horseback riding or taking a short easy hike to an Elk viewing platform. The local town of Chama is a lovely small village with just the right amount of services.
The roads are so very rutted. Please grade them. Great place for horses if you can get your rig in there.
