My friend overdosed in the back seat of a car I was in. We pulled into the police station. I carried him inside and they administered noloxone saving his life.nnThey then arrested me and charged me to r everything they could because legally they can't charge for possession.nnAfter saving a human beings life by thinking quickly and getting him to help these officers were more interested in yelling at me, intimidating me and finding something to charge me with.nnI no longer use drugs but if I ever relapse and find myself in a similar situation I may be hesitant to get help. Arresting people trying to save someone's life is not the spirit of the law. They whole reason there is amnesty for possession in these situations is so people call 911. Do you really want people to be afraid to call for help when someone is dying??? By your departments actions I believe the answer is clear. You don't care.
