Exeter Police Department

I’ve always had a great experience with Exeter law enforcement. Thank you for keeping the town safe and risking your well-being for others.

Unfortunately, I have had quite a bit of interaction with the Exeter Police. I often visit my mother who lives near the Exeter Hospital and I'm often walking there from the Downeaster train depot. I can't even count the times I have been stopped WALKING and been put in protective custody. And I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but me and my husband don't get taken to the Exeter Police Department to be held. We are brought directly to the Brentwood County Jail to wait out our four hours. But by the time four hours have passed, and usually they are required to release you, it's the middle of the night. And no one wants to come pick you up until morning. So you're pretty much assured to be spending the night there. Because they will not allow you to walk off the property (you may be inclined to key a vehicle or two on the way out). You have to wait for the morning shift to drive you off the premises and leave you in the middle of nowhere. They have PC'd me and my husband because they claim civilians called and reported we were walking oddly. Well, for one, my husband has major neuropathy and limps regularly. And there are multiple eateries in the downtown area we walk through, including a brewery. So isn't it completely reasonable to be WALKING home with a small buzz? I can prove they are corrupt and arrest and PC people against their rights because on one evening in particular that we were PC'd, we had marijuana, a pipe, and my friends purse. They took the weed and paraphernalia and never charged me with it. And when released, they handed me my friends purse like it was mine. They knew they were in the wrong. I could go on and on. There are a few good eggs on the force, but they are the exception. This Department has an inflated sense of importance because of Philips Exeter private school being located here. They believe they must protect the exceptional youth from degenerates like me. Little do they know, I went to private school myself. And played sports against both Andover and Exeter Philips. Suckers. This Dept. Is NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

The prosecutor is a joke, she sounds offended by everything. This is an example that the more schooling you have the less common sense you’ll have. She should be fired and replaced, these officers deserve better.

Careful over being honest and reporting them negatively, often upsets them. I’ve never met such incompetent police officers!

Got pulled over on 101 by an Exeter cop last night. The officer was very professional, nice, and everything you should expect in a police officer. Hats off
