Super 8 by Wyndham Kearney

I used to work here as well. Management was not very good at the time I started. Throughout my time working here, the management changed. Things started to look up But, quickly went downhill. Everyone was very rude, the housekeeping wouldn’t do their jobs properly and, neither would management. From what i hear, the now manager is very paranoid. Also he told me specifically that he would not hire anyone if they’re “sketchy”. & He also wasn’t planning on letting me come back after my maternity leave, but luckily i had already found another job. This motel may seem cheap, but it is definitely not worth the price. the only thing that has been done to “upgrade” this place within the last 3 years is re-painting the parking lot. They let people freely smoke weed and do other drugs in the rooms without doing anything about it because “it doesn’t stain the walls like tobacco does”. Plus after someone checks out and if the bed barely looks slept in or even if the housekeeping is being lazy, they do not change the sheets or towels in the rooms. I would not recommend this place for anyone unless you are looking for a run down motel, and are willing to take the chances that your sheets & towels may or may not be clean. I especially would not recommend this place for anyone with children. They will either charge you more or kick you out if someone complains. Some of the front desk is nice though.

My experience with the night clerk was less than stellar (but read on for 5 star service by the day clerk!). I had booked via Booking.com for the same night, and when I called them to tell them we had a dog, he said he couldn't believe I was able to book online because they had no rooms for the night and that he didn't see my reservation. I realize now that I had called too soon for my reservation to have come through yet. Long story short, he showed no interest in helping me, and we ended up staying somewhere else (about 50 mins down the highway!). Turns out that my reservation did come thru, and I was charged a no-show fee. When I called the next morning, I spoke to Mike. Right away I could tell that he was interested in what and how the mis-communication happened. In the end, I acknowledged that there was fault on both sides, and even though he couldn't refund the no-show fee, he took my case to the owners and they gave me half my money. If I could give Mike 5 STARS, I would, because he demonstrated genuine concern for my situation, explained everything in a manner that was easy to understand, and advocated for me, the customer, to his employers.

Got a room for 2 nights. First thing was the coffee pot was missing pieces so we could not make coffee had to wait for the front desk to get coffee. The furnas was loud and the bathroom was not clean. I can get over those things but in between snow storms my husband and I decided to leave and not stay our second night. I talked to 2 employees at the front desk about us leaving and a refund for my second night because of the weather and they said to call and talk to a manager they cant give refunds. So I turned in my keys and left it was early afternoon. I called Monday morning the manager said he would have to talk to the employee. So 2 days later I call again and he says no one remembers talking to us and leaving. That would be a conversation you think one of them would remember. We stay in Kearney a couple times a year and will never stay here again.

This hotel was very accommodating for its affordability. Perfect, affordable spot for a quick overnight stay when you’re not looking for luxury but just looking for a place to crash.nnWe stayed on the second floor, I did hear there was concern with the rooms on the bottom floor after they were damaged by the floods last year.
