Really good school. Well managed. Very nice people work there and treat you right. I do recommend this school.

Any principal who places developmentally disabled pre-school children in a portable building at the furthest point from the main school building, and furthest point from the bus zone, in addition to a path to the building being in very broken and uneven condition as well as inaccessible by wheel chair should be educated as to what is appropriate for 3 and 4 year old children as he is obviously very ignorant with regard to this as well as the special education administration that is going along with this. Shame on all of you. I imagine Mr. Rounds is not aware of this as I cannot imagine that he would condone this.

xIt is god awful to see how the students are bribed during testing with “incentives” such as technology from the administration. And it might also be worse to think that the staff cannot stand up to their administration that test scores and grades are not what makes a productive education. It what makes a name for a school, staff and above all feeds an ego or two in this school. In the last three years I have seen the genuine education of this school and staff drop to the average educators and capitalist means to earn a dollar on the tax players expense. In my child’s last year at this school, all they can back home was talking about how important it was perform and show what you know on tests (assessments). Open house and parent conferences were nothing more than reviewing how my child did on their assessment(s) and what they lacked of. In addition there are staff that care to provide a productive education at Hillrise Elementary, buts it is their reputation and scores that are first then doing the right and honest choices. This school use to have heart, soul and passion and now it has success and scores set out as the overall mission. Such a disgrace when a complete 180 is seen.
