There was a lot of history about General Patton and his role during the war with Germany. Lots of interesting facts that I never know before. Be repaired to do a lot of reading and take the time to do it because that is how you are going to learn about his life and career. You will be glad you took the time to read all the information. You will be truly enlightened.nYou will have to stop at the visitors center to get a pass to get on base, which is where the museum is actually located. There is no cover charge, one of the few free museums around. It was definitely worth the time and do plan to spend several hours to get totally immersed into it all. I loved ♥ the visit.
We were absolutely heartbroken to be turned away from the museum. It’s all we have been talking about for weeks. We drove over two hours, booked a hotel and everything, but they wouldn’t allow us in because my husband isn’t a US citizen. He is from England and has all the proper visa paperwork and everything, but they still wouldn’t allow it. Which I guess is fine, but it just wasn’t posted anywhere obvious online at all. It was just really frustrating and disappointing. It needs to be much clearer on the website for non US tourists to be made aware. The guard said if we had someone with a military ID “sponsor” us, then we would have been allowed in. But none of that was explained on the website. We have friends from England that have been talking about wanting to visit, and if they had flown all the way here just to be turned away, that would have been horrible. Please consider updating that on the website so other people don’t have the same trouble. We would have loved to visit. ud83dude22
This museum is a must see for anyone interested in our military history.nnLocated within the Ft. Knox complex, I highly recommend it. Don't forget your camera.
Nice museum with lots of stories and historic artifacts worth seeing. I liked the gift shop too.
Loved the fact that the Patton Museum is located within the Army Post. And the fact it’s free to the public. Was a great tour with other artifacts throughout that has to do with our history.
