Manton Consolidated Schools do an excellent job of making certain children have the opportunity to receive education in a safe and learning conducive atmosphere.nnThe opportunities for pre-school and elementary school education are better than most larger communities.nnMiddle School is on par with or slightly above average when compared with all other schools in the tri-county area.nLike all schools both public and private, the students choose their social environment and how that will affect the learning environment. Popular Culture has had a negative impact on our children and young adults. The educators, staff, local LE, and concerned parents make great efforts to deal with emerging issues quickly and appropriately.nMany Manton High School Graduates speak fondly of their experience and community. The graduating classes are relatively small, but normal for the class/size school that it is and local population.nnThe community is rural and agricultural based with a relatively large Amish and Mennonite population in the area. In many ways local values and attitudes make Manton seem comparable to Falmouth, Lucas, and McBain in Missaukee County.nEthnically, the Manton area is more diverse and accepting; with a predominant American first attitude and Irish heritage culture base.nnMany will fault the school and community as being an insiders club.nI believe that you get from it what you put into it.nnThe only thing that I can fault the school system with at all is a communication and organization issue that tends to prevent information from being passed appropriately from school to parents, especially in regards to athletic and sporting opportunities.nThere is also a distinct lack of extra funding for sports, recreation, and vocal music.nI believe these things may improve in time.
